Independence Day will be celebrated across the country on July 4th. Las Vegas is usually a popular travel destination for the 4th, and has some of the best fireworks displays you may ever see. This year it’s going to be a little different. Celebrate our nation’s birthday while staying safe!
As we learn about plans for our July 4th holiday here in Las Vegas, we will list the events below. But keep in mind that any of these could change at any time, based on the health trends. So please follow the links and check with the organizers before you decide to head out.
2020 Event changes so far
The 26th Annual Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade is going virtual this year. “Balancing the protection and safety of our residents while preserving traditions is of paramount importance to us. As such, the Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade will look a little different this year. We’ll be bringing the community together in celebration of Independence Day by going virtual.” You can get more information on this virtual event and stay up to date at their website here. The parade is scheduled to start at 9am.
Station Casinos is once again hosting 4th of July fireworks shows in Southern Nevada. The Station Casinos July 4th Fireworks are set to go off on the east and west sides of town at Green Valley Ranch Resort in Henderson and Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Summerlin. The fireworks show is set for 9pm on Saturday, July 4th and should last approximately nine-minutes.
The public can experience the Red Rock Casino’s show from its south parking lot, located off Summerlin Cetnre Drive (physical distancing guidelines will apply). In Henderson, guests can watch the Green Valley Ranch Casino’s show from home or another location which allows for social distancing. A live stream of the fireworks shows can also be seen by smartphone or computer via a live stream on redrockresort.com and greenvalleyranch.com, respectively.
The City of Henderson – The City of Henderson will salute America by hosting a Star-Spangled Sky Fireworks event on Saturday, July 4 starting at 9pm. You can view from a safe location to ensure social distancing. Fireworks will be launched from 4 locations across the valley:
-GVR Resort Spa & Casino
-Lake Las Vegas
-M Resort Spa Casino
-Legacy Golf Club
The city will broadcast patriotic music during the fireworks on the following iHeart radio stations.
Firework Paddle at Lake Las Vegas– Hosted by Lake Las Vegas Water Sports. 7pm- 10pm, fireworks are at 9pm, can get on the water at 8pm. Tickets start at $95 for Paddleboard and go up from there. See all ticket options and many more details here, and at the link above.
The Plaza Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas is holding its annual Independence Day party on Saturday, July 4 at 10 p.m. It will be staged from multiple locations on the Plaza’s roofs and towers and should be visible for miles. Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Carson Avenue to Ogden Avenue to allow for pedestrian traffic.
Wet ‘N’ Wild Las Vegas– Wet’n’Wild is hosting two events on Saturday, July 4. There is a Dive-in movie (Miracle) which starts at 8 p.m. and then the Red, White & Wild fireworks extravaganza also at 8 p.m.
Lake Las Vegas Fireworks -Lake Las Vegas will be part of the 2020 Star Spangled Sky display set off by City of Henderson.
M Resort Fireworks Display– The M Resort will be part of the 2020 Star Spangled Sky display set off by City of Henderson.
Boulder City Annual Pancake Breakfast– The Rotary Club of Boulder City will still do it’s annual Pancake Breakfast on the 4th of July from 7am – 9am, but on a drive-up basis! They’ll be serving pancakes, sausages and the fixings with coffee or juice. This is always on an ‘open donation’ basis and any proceeds after their costs will benefit the Senior Center! To participate, drive or walk up to the parking lot of the Senior Center of Boulder City (813 Arizona St.) but enter on G Street.
Below are Fireworks, events and parades from 2019. Only a few of these events have given updates for the 2020 holiday. It’s too early to know for sure what 4th of July celebrations will look like in Vegas for 2020, but rest assured…when plans are announced, we will share them here.
Cowabunga Bay fireworks- *2020-Cowabunga Bay is now open, but plans for fireworks have not been announced as of yet. DJ, FREE Face painting, FREE balloon animals, and Fireworks. BBQ Food Truck and concessions available for purchase. Park hours 10am-11pm.
4th of July Damboree in Boulder City- This large event has been Cancelled for 2020, and the fireworks will be cancelled as well. The annual event is one of the largest in town and usually brings in thousands of people for the parade, festivities and fireworks.
