Saving money at the box office can be as tricky as a suspense thriller…or full of laughs like a comedy. However, here are 9 superstar ways to save at Regal Cinemas box office. Even those who must see a film on opening weekend can still save a few bucks.
The key is to plan ahead and be flexible. Never pay full-price at the box office or concession stand.
Regal Cinemas’ Summer Movie Express
On a hot summer day, there’s nothing better than a morning at the movies to keep the kids entertained…and all in an air-conditioned theater.
Regal Entertainment Group has scheduled 10 weeks of family-friendly movies this summer at select theaters.
During its popular Summer Movie Express, selected G- or PG-rated movies show at 10 a.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday at participating locations. Tickets are just $1 each.
The series starts June 1 at most participating locations. However, dates and times may vary by location.
Here’s this summer’s schedule of family-friendly flicks:
Week 1: June 1 and 2 – Smurfs: The Lost Village and Dog’s Way Home
Week 2: June 8 and 9 – Smallfoot and Playing with Fire
Week 3: June 15 and 16 – Storks and The LEGO Movie
Week 4: June 22 and 23 – The Emoji Movie and Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs
Week 5: June 29 and 30 – The LEGO Batman Movie and Pokémon Detective Pikachu
Week 6: July 6 and 7 – The Croods: A New Age and The Muppet Movie
Week 7: July 13 and 14 – The LEGO Ninjago Movie and Trolls World Tour
Week 8: July 20 and July 21 – Sonic The Hedgehog and Sing
Week 9: July 27 and 28 – Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Angry Birds Movie 2
Week 10: August 3 and 4 – Minions and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
Each week, both movies play on both days at or around 10 a.m. — each for just $1. (Showtimes vary by location.) Seating is limited. Tickets are available first-come, first-served. Tickets are available only at the theater box office on the day of the show.

Save Big at Regal Cinemas
Plus, here are a few tips for blockbuster savings at Regal Cinemas:
Regal Crown Club – Members earn points toward FREE tickets, popcorn and soda, as well as movie merchandise. Plus, members get 25% off candy every Monday and 50% off popcorn every Tuesday. Membership is FREE. Members also get access to exclusive sneak previews and lots of opportunities to earn bonus points.
Regal Unlimited – Join the chain’s movie subscription pass, Regal Unlimited, for blockbuster savings. With membership as low as $18 per month, you can see as many movies as you want, whenever you want. There are restrictions and rules, so review the program carefully before you join, so as to be sure you will benefit.
Monthly Mobile Coupon – Download the Regal Cinemas app for amonthly mobile coupon delivered right to your smart phone on the first day of the month. The discounts are typically for a monthly combo special (usually 15% off) — just show the digital coupon for the discount. The coupon can be found under the “Specials” tab and, then, under “Promotions.”
Value Days – This discount is a definite blockbuster because it includes new releases — a rarity with most box office promos. The discount and day for their Las Vegas theatres is Tuesdays, with ticket prices all day at $6.80. In many cases, it’s the lowest ticket price offered by the chain. The discount is only open to Regal Crown Club members.
Value Days Concession Specials – The discount doesn’t just stop at the box office on Value Days. Many participating locations also offer discounted concession items, including $2 hot dogs and $3 nachos. The deal is only open to Regal Crown Club members.
Free Large Refills – Regal Cinemas offers a FREE refill (during the same visit) on a large popcorn. It’s a smart move for budget-conscious families or friends. Why pay for two or three small popcorns, when you can share one for less money? (If you can only chomp on one bucket of popcorn, still get your FREE refill after the movie and take it home for a midnight snack.)
The complimentary refill also applies to a large soft drink. However, sharing can be a bit tricky, unless you don’t mind sipping from the same cup.
AARP Special – AARP members can save $3 on a small drink and small popcorn combo — around 25% off. Just flash your AARP membership card at the concession stand.
Matinee Discounts. If you already didn’t know, matinee showtimes (usually before 6 p.m.) are always cheaper than evening shows — usually by $2 or $3. Plus, as an added bonus, there are fewer patrons, so it can be a much more quiet, relaxing experience.
Senior/Military Discounts. These are not the best discounts, but, if there aren’t better savings available, you can always rely on these good ol’ stand-bys. The discounted tickets are usually just a buck or two off regular prices. (Restrictions may apply.) Of course, a proper ID is required for any of the discounts.
Now, you’re ready to write the script on how to save money at the movies — just remember to combine deals for superstar savings. For example, check out a flick on a Tuesday afternoon for matinee pricing. Swipe your Regal Crown Club at the box office and also get 50% off any popcorn. It’s even better because both transactions will earn points toward freebies. Find your nearest Las Vegas Regal theater here.
