National Avocado Day is Friday, July 31st. If you love avocado’s, what’s better than a great, big bowl of guacamole! Check out the deals and freebies below on avocados and guacamole near you!
Avocados are very nutritious and contain a wide variety of nutrients, including 20 different vitamins and minerals. Some of these include Vitamin K, Folate, Vitamin C, E, B5, B6 and Potassium. They are loaded with fiber and heart healthy fats, and even contain antioxidants for eye health. And Super Bowl fans can relate – approximately 53.5 million pounds of guacamole is eaten on Super Bowl Sundays.

If you want to celebrate National Avocado Day at home, you can grab avocados from WalMart for 0.78 cents each, or Target has them for 0.99 cents each. If you don’t want to make your own guacamole, you can check out some of the best guac in town at these restaurants:
Lindo Michoacan: They make amazing and very fresh guacamole, and have 3 locations across the valley. They also have pickup and delivery options available.
El Segundo Sol: Located at Fashion Show Mall on the Strip, they’ll make your guacamole how you like it, right then and there. They have great Margaritas as well, and a patio overlooking Las Vegas Blvd. With the fresh guac and atmosphere you can’t beat this location!
Baja Fresh: For more of a fast food option and price, Baja Fresh has guacamole that tastes fresh, has so much flavor, and great texture as well. Baja Fresh ensures freshness and doesn’t have can openers, microwaves or freezers in their restaurants.
I, myself, am not a fan of avocado’s, believe it or not. I just don’t care for the texture or flavor by itself. Now, I will demolish a great tasting bowl of delicious guacamole. My personal favorite store bought guac has to be Trader Joe’s Chunky Spicy Guacamole. Not too spicy, just the perfect kick. If you haven’t tried it, give it a go. If you aren’t into making your own guac, this is a great substitute.
And here’s a bonus tip: If you are waiting for that rock-hard avocado to ripen so you can enjoy it, pop it into a brown paper bag with a banana or apple companion. The fruits produce ethylene, a naturally occurring gas, that will speed up the ripening process of the avocado.
