Things to do with Mom
Art Festival of Henderson– On Mother’s Day weekend May 11th & 12th, from 9am-4pm, Water Street transforms into an arts district for the Art Festival of Henderson. Shop for unique art, watch live demonstrations or listen to live music. They’ll have a colorful display of chalk art creations plus food and an interactive area just for kids. Brews & Blues Festival at Springs Preserve- Saturday, May 11th from 4pm-8pm, enjoy red-hot blues and ice-cold brews at the 10th annual Brews & Blues Festival. Guests will receive a commemorative mug for unlimited tastings from a large selection of beers from local, regional, national and international brewers. Vendors will also have plenty of tasty food options for purchase. Tickets start at $35 (in advance), with options for members and VIP’s, and are recommended to be purchased ahead, as this event can sell out.
Cowabunga Bay- Cowabunga Bay Waterpark is offering FREE admission to all Moms. Moms get in free with a regular kid’s priced admission. Open Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Discovery Children’s Museum
DISCOVERY welcome families Sunday, May 12th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. to celebrate Mother’s Day morning with Cookies and Canvas painting. This is an exclusive, pre-opening event where you can create 2 unique art pieces to take home. Cookies and punch will be served. Guests must register to participate in the fun. Adult members will pay an additional $10 on top of the museum fee and General Admission Adults will pay an additional $20. All children passes will be an additional $5 on to participate.
The High Roller–Take Mom for a ride on the world’s tallest observation wheel at the end of the Linq’s Promenade. Towering 550 ft above the Strip, enjoy 360 degree views of the entire Las Vegas valley in one of their 28 spacious cabins. Daytime tickets run $22-$35 for happy hour and nighttime tickets run $32-$47 for happy hour which is available from noon to 1am only. Lake Mead Cruises– Take Mom out to the lake this year and cruise. Enjoy a Champagne Brunch or for cooler temperatures and a smooth ride, enjoy a Dinner Cruise under the stars. Cruises are available on a paddlewheeler to and from Hoover Dam. Daily boat tours, special cocktail/dinner cruises, sunset dinner/dance cruises and breakfast cruises are available.
Red Rock Canyon-Take Mom on a scenic drive. The 13- mile scenic loop allows visitors to take in the beauty of the canyon from their vehicle or bicycle. There are many scenic stops along the way and plenty of photo opportunities. Daily rates to enter the park and scenic loop are $15 per vehicle, $10 for motorcycles, $5 for bicycles and pedestrians. For locals or those that frequent the area, a $30 per person or $20 for seniors age 62+annual pass can also be purchased. The scenic loop opens at 6am everyday and closes at sunset, which varies from 5pm-8pm depending on the season.
The Underground at The Mob Museum
It’s no secret mobsters love their mamas. It’s been heard that mobsters say they are closed for business when Mother’s Day arrives each May. Of course, The Underground is always open for Mom! Friday, May 10 to Sunday, May 12th, from 9am- midnight each day. Mimosas will be available for $8. Non-alcoholic cocktails available for $5.
Best Brunches with Mom
It’s pretty easy to find a decent brunch here in Vegas every weekend, but these restaurants hold a special brunch just for Moms.
Mother’s Day Brunch at Divine Cafe at Springs Preserve. Sweeping city views and garden blooms create the perfect setting to honor special ladies. Brunch runs from 9am-4pm and reservations are required with times at 9am, 11:30am or 2pm. $35.42 for adults, $11.82 for children ages 5-10, plus sales tax and Eventbrite fees. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Bar has a three-course brunch and all day dinner menu ranging from $48-$60 per person starting at 10 a.m. Signature Eggs Benedict with filet or crab cakes (or both), and a berry mimosa are just some of the menu items. They also offer a three course Children’s menu from $16-$19, with items like Lamb Lollipops, Chicken Tenders and French Toast with Strawberry Sauce. In Town Square and the Westside, reservations are recommended.
T-Bones Chophouse at Red Rock Resort has a Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for $89 per person for those ages 11 and older and $39 for children ages 3 to 10. Diners can create-their-own omelets with ingredients such as prime rib, lobster, smoked salmon, apple wood bacon, ham, wild mushrooms, asparagus, tomato, olive, spinach, avocado, jalapeño, artichokes, feta and Swiss. Cleo at SLS holds a Mother’s Day jazz and champagne brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 13. The all-inclusive brunch is $45 for adults and $11.50 for children ages 3 to 10. This decadent brunch will feature an indulgent spread of traditional American and Mediterranean cuisine and select bottomless cocktails including champagne; orange, passion fruit or guava juice mimosas; and a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar.
Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis at GVR is holding their Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Diners at Hank’s will receive a homemade sweet bread basket filled with goodies delivered to their table, as well as a carving station, sushi and seafood, pancakes and crepes, a bloody mary bar and ice cream sundaes.
STK at the Cosmopolitan celebrates Mother’s Day with a $55 prix-fixe menu brunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The meal starts with a fruit platter and assorted pastries for the table. Then diners choose one of seven different entrees, and finish with dessert station with salted caramel budino, macarons, mini tarts, banana cream pie, strawberry shortcake, and cookies.
Cabo Wabo Cantina– located inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, will show love for moms on Mother’s Day by offering a complimentary “mom-mosa” with breakfast on Sunday, May 12th from 8 to 11 a.m. Cabo Wabo offers a wide variety of signature breakfast items, including the decadent croissant French toast, a fresh baked croissant prepared into French toast, topped with warm maple syrup, fresh berries, powdered sugar and whipped cream, priced at $10.95; CW eggs benedict, made with layers of machaca, chorizo and poached eggs on an English muffin, topped with melted pepper-jack cheese and hollandaise, priced at $13.95; All moms must be accompanied by another guest who orders an entrée.
