When you think of Las Vegas, you think it really has everything. What we are actually missing is a proper zoo! I have small kiddos that love animals and zoos, so we took a visit to see the Lions.
I’ve known about the Lion Habitat for years and have never gone, but I’m so glad we did! The Lion Habitat Ranch is a non profit sanctuary located just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. It was started to protect the animals, free from danger, while also providing a learning experience for all guests and for the community. Helping create a greater respect for lions, and increasing awareness about wild habitat needs.
You can see over two dozen beautiful lions from just a few feet away. Benny and Elsa are just a few of their beautiful lions on site. Don’t forget the ostriches, emus, macaws and my favorite, Ozzie the giraffe. His favorite activity is painting for the crowd. He paints a few times a day and his paintings and other items he has painted, such as T-shirts, are available to purchase in the gift shop.
Almost all of the birds on the Ranch have been rescued from various zoos and private owners. They use heat and misters to keep the climate comfortable for these tropical beauties.
