The smooth sound of jazz will take over the Water Street Plaza Amphitheater for three consecutive nights during the Water Street Jazz Series.
Beginning September 22, the Water Street Jazz Series features an acclaimed lineup of contemporary jazz artists. The weather is perfect lately to sit outside in the evening and enjoy some sweet sounds. The lineup will be as follows:
Brandee Younger – Sept. 22
Brandee Younger, is revolutionizing harp for the digital era. Over the past fifteen years, she has worked relentlessly to stretch boundaries and limitations for harpists. In 2022, she made history by becoming the first black woman to be nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition. That same year, she was also nominated for an NAACP Image Award.
Jumaane Smith – Sept. 23
Jazz trumpeter, vocalist and composer Jumaane Smith has performed on 5 GRAMMY Award-winning records (selling more than 60 million copies) 2 Emmy Award nominated TV performances, the GRAMMY Awards with Stevie Wonder, in Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” and more.
Smith has worked with musical legends such as Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Aretha Frankin, Christian McBride, Barbra Streisand and many more.
Lao Tizer Band- Sept. 24
“Jazz Group of the Year” nominee, THE LAO TIZER BAND feat Eric Marienthal, Karen Briggs & Elliott Yamin, make their debut appearance at Water Street Plaza Ampitheatre in support of their latest Billboard Jazz Top 10 release, Songs From The Swinghouse! Individual tickets for each concert begin at $15 when purchased in advance online. Shows will begin at 7:30pm until 9:30 pm. No account is needed to purchase event tickets.
Alcoholic (21+) and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. All seating is unassigned in the amphitheater. Water Street Plaza is an outdoor venue, so please dress accordingly.
