February is Black History Month. It’s an annual celebration across the country of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history.
Come on back to the Springs Preserve and join them for the 15th annual Black History Month Festival! Enjoy spectacular music and dance performances, fun and educational activities for kids, and captivating speakers and demonstrations for the whole family.
Commemorating the tremendous contributions of African-Americans to Southern Nevada’s rich history and culture, this large, family-friendly festival celebrates Black History with fun for the whole family.
The Festival will be held Saturday, February 17th from 10am-4pm at the Springs Preserve. This an event for the whole family that includes:
- Live bands and dance performances
- Children’s activities and arts & crafts
- Educational activites
- Storytime
- Authentic African-American cuisine
- Cultural art and gift items for purchase
- Historic Black Las Vegas photo exhibit and Civil Rights-era photography
- And much more!
Reservations are required. Limited tickets are available, and we encourage purchasing online in advance as it will likely sell out.
Tickets for the festival are as follows: Adult (18+) $9.95, Child (3-17) $4.95. Value Members: Adult (18+) $8, Child (3-17) $4. Free for children ages 2 and younger. All attendees must be ticketed for the event.
Admission to the 15th annual Black History Month Festival includes free entrance to the Springs Preserve’s museums and galleries, including the Nevada State Museum. See the link for more event information.
