The Southern Nevada Health District is offering lots of vaccine information and providing vaccination sites throughout the city. Find out below if you are eligible now for a vaccine as well as who shouldn’t get it.
“Vaccination opportunities for this group of Nevadans will be available through the retail pharmacy program,” Gov. Sisolak said.
Currently, all Nevadans 5 and older are eligible to get the vaccine.
If you are currently eligible to receive the vaccine, it is important that you identify which group applies best to you before scheduling an appointment. Additional vaccine information and clinic locations and scheduling can be found at https://covid.

There are lots of other places you can get the vaccine as well, such as your local CVS, and Walgreens. Check your local pharmacy for the most current information.
If no appointment times are showing as available, please check the calendar often. New appointment availability will open as shown at the link above, and cancellations can result in appointment times becoming available throughout the day. You can see Clark County’s current vaccination information here.
Those interested in the vaccine must register online at https://clvminkervaccinesite.
The COVID-19 vaccination is NOT recommended for the following individuals, unless you consult with your primary physician:
- You have known allergies to the ingredients in the Moderna or Pfizer brand of vaccine or if you have any other allergies for which you are prescribed Epinephrine.
- Are an immune-compromised individual.
- Have lupus.
- Have cancer.
- Received any vaccination within 14 days of seeking the COVID-19 vaccination.
- Tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days unless you have cleared the quarantine period AND are symptom free with negative test results.
- If you have been treated with antibodies or plasma for COVID-19, you must wait 90 days from last treatment to get the vaccine.
The vaccination process can be very confusing. Each county has their own rollout plan with different vaccine locations and sign-up processes and there are scams. Note that COVID-19 vaccines are free of charge and only available from the county health department or a healthcare provider. So if you know a senior that needs a vaccine, please help them navigate the system and secure their vaccine. If you will be getting the vaccine, be aware and be ready, soon it will be your turn.
This post is purely informational. Your decision to vaccinate yourself and your family is between you, your family and your healthcare provider only. You can find out more about Nevada’s Mitigation Measures and the updated Roadmap to Recovery Tranisition Plan at the link.
