While the popular First Friday festival is postponed, we want to make sure you are aware that the Downtown Las Vegas Arts District is alive and well.
The Arts Factory is proud to be the geographic and creative center of the 18b Las Vegas Arts District. You could say the Arts District Art Walk festival is temporarily the unofficial First Friday event.
The Arts Factory is currently home to 23 commercial art-related tenants representing photography, fine art, architecture, graphic design, a yoga school, jewelers, architects, hip bars and restaurants.
The 18b Arts District participates in Gallery Openings and an Art Walk festival on the first Friday of every month – from 6:00pm – 10:00pm. The night before each “First Friday” all our studios are open to give a sneak preview of new artwork – it’s an ideal opportunity to meet our artists without a crowd. “Preview Thursday” has become the unofficial “collector’s night” and runs from 6:00pm – 10:00pm.
We will be attending this Art Walk on Friday, October 2nd, and I can’t wait. A good friend of mine, Jason Button, is having his art displayed at AW Gallery. Come check it out, or you can check out his work on his IG account at the link above.
The artists represented at The Arts Factory have a broad range of contemporary and traditional styles, media, and interests. In addition to its commercial activities, the Arts Factory provides educational functions and community group meetings. Some of these functions include a weekly Life Drawing class, the Las Vegas Sculpture Park, student art exhibitions, fund raiser events for notable local and national charities, and the Smithsonian Institute lecture series.
The Arts Factory is located in a 50-year-old commercial warehouse building with traditional bowstring truss architecture. It sits near the junction of Charleston Boulevard and Main Street in an old section of downtown Las Vegas.
Free parking is available at the rear of our building just off Charleston Blvd. and Art Way on a little street called Boulder Ave. We are also located just 1 short block from the new 18b LV Arts District Bus Station on Casino Center Drive, and one of the stops on the New Downtown LOOP Shuttle Service.
Bring your masks and prepare to see some amazing art, and (if you’re hungry) dine on delicious food. You can see the full directory of the Arts Factory here. You can also check out The Las Vegas Arts District facebook page to see what’s open and what’s happening all around the Arts District.
