Summer is here. Get ready for some relaxation, fun and sunshine! As you map out your summer plans, take an hour or two to help save lives. And here is a great reason for you to get out and donate.
The Red Cross is partnering with Amazon to send you a little something to brighten your day in thanks for giving others a summer full of life. Come in to give blood, platelets or plasma June 14-30, 2021, and they’ll send you a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card by email.
Limit one per donor unless otherwise indicated. Schedule your next blood, platelet or plasma donation appointment today.
Plus, keep an eye out for Amazon Prime Days June 21 and 22.
Another great reason to donate, you can find out if you have COVID-19 antibodies with your Red Cross blood donation! For a limited time, the Red Cross will test all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies – at no charge! Right now there is an urgent need for blood and platelets, so make this rewarding effort to donate blood to help others in need of life-saving blood products.
An antibody test screens for antibodies in your blood, which are formed when fighting an infection. An antibody test assesses whether your immune system has responded to the infection, not if the virus is currently present. You can read more about antibody testing, Red Cross blood donations and you can schedule appointments here.
The results of your antibody test will be available by logging in to your Blood Donor account on the Blood Donor App or online about 7 to 10 days after your donation. You can also find the results of your mini-physical, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse check, and iron levels.
While many of the local blood drives seem to be full in the next week or so, schedule ahead to reserve your spot or check back often for open appointment times.
