Good morning! McDonald’s is declaring March 2nd National Egg McMuffin Day.
The iconic Egg McMuffin was first created in early 1971 by Herb Peterson, an owner and operator in Santa Barbara, California. What started as an attempt to make Eggs Benedict became a breakfast icon: the Egg McMuffin. Herb is also credited with creating the Teflon rings to give the eggs their perfectly rounded shape—a tool that has inspired other brands around the world.
And exactly how do you celebrate National Egg McMuffin Day? Well, by enjoying a free Egg McMuffin breakfast sandwich, of course!
McDonald’s is celebrating by giving customers a FREE freshly-prepared Egg McMuffin at participating locations nationwide. To get yours, download the chain’s mobile app and redeem the digital coupon on March 2 — from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
NOTE: Not all locations offer the same national promotions. As a result, price and participation may vary. It’s always wise to call ahead for verification in your area. We strive to keep up with “limited-time offers,” but deals may end without notice.
