Starbucks has closed access to cafes and reduced service to drive-thru and delivery only for at least the next two weeks. You can still get your coffee fix, but please, only if it’s on the way back from your grocery store run. We all still need to stay at home as much as possible.
Starbucks has announced it will offer FREE coffee to front line responders through May 3. In addition, The Starbucks Foundation will donate $500,000 to support front-line responders.
Here are the details:
- Starting today through May 3, any customer who identifies as a front-line responder to the COVID-19 outbreak will receive a tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) at no charge.
- Additionally, The Starbucks Foundation will donate $500,000 to support U.S. front-line responders with equal donations to Direct Relief to support the delivery of personal protective equipment and essential medical items and to Operation Gratitude to deliver 50,000 care packages and handwritten letters to first responders and health care workers.
So if you are a medical worker or any other front line responder that has to be out and about, you can drive-thru and get yourself a free coffee. If you have one of their reusable cups, toss it in your car as well. You definitely deserve it.
