Oh boy is it hot out there! The City of Las Vegas will open a cooling station this weekend to help anyone in need get out of the heat.
With an excessive heat warning this week ending Monday and high temps still well over 100, Las Vegas can be dangerous to those stuck out in the heat.
The city of Las Vegas announced it will open a cooling station at Dula Gymnasium, 441 E. Bonanza Road, Sunday Aug. 29 through Monday, August 30th at 8PM due to the excessive heat forecast.
This location will be open for anyone needing to get out of the heat from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 29 & 30. Those experiencing homelessness at the Courtyard Homeless Resource Center will have access to the cooling station, as well as anyone else in need.
The Courtyard will remain available for those who need a safe place to sleep after the cooling station closes at 8 p.m.
