Avocado producers from Mexico are getting ready to export more than 100 thousand tons of avocado for the 55th Super Bowl, which will be held on Sunday, February 7th in Tampa, FL. According to Avocados from Mexico, based out of Irving, Texas, two hundred million pounds of guacamole are served throughout the United States during the Super Bowl alone.
Not only are avocados and guacamole delicious, they are actually good for you. Avocados are very nutritious and contain a wide variety of nutrients, including 20 different vitamins and minerals. Some of these include Vitamin K, Folate, Vitamin C, E, B5, B6 and Potassium. They are loaded with fiber and heart healthy fats, and even contain antioxidants for eye health.
